If you are considering counselling, it can be a sign that you are taking the first steps towards addressing a problem or discomfort in your life. It may be that something is not working for you, or that you are feeling unsure or distressed but don’t know why. Counselling can help you explore and understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and begin to move forward.
Getting started
Selecting a counsellor can feel overwhelming, but it’s important to find the right fit. Prior to our initial session, and before you decide to proceed with therapy, I provide a complimentary 20-minute phone call. This allows us to discuss your requirements and address any questions you may have.
A short conversation to understand what you need and whether working together feels right.
We’ll begin gently and take time to understand what brings you to therapy and what you would like from it.
We’ll schedule weekly sessions at a consistent time and routinely review progress to ensure you feel supported.
My practice
I work online and in person from a private and confidential setting in Horndean, Hampshire. I have found online sessions to be highly effective, as clients are in a safe familiar space and travel can cause anxiety for many people.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their ethical framework. You can view my registration via my BACP profile.
